From the very beginning, the Stadthaus has been presenting KIBUM, the big book fair your young readers, which takes place during the Advent season. More than 2000 books are available to explore by visitors of all ages, from picture books and non-fiction publications to novels for young adults. The presentation of new German publications for all topics and age groups is curated by the university and the municipal library Oldenburg.
It is accompanied by a diverse programme which includes readings, storytelling, painting and crafting based on stories, riddles, a treasure hunt, papermaking and much more.
The KIBUM is presented by the Stadthaus, the municipal library, the office for culture of the city of Ulm, the Stadtjugendring and the local book shops Aegis, Hugendubel, Jastram and Kerler.
The 24th edition of KIBUM will take place 28 November to 6 December 2020. As usual, the Stadthaus will host the book presentation and a lot of creative activities, readings and more.
The prize ‘Ulmer Unke’ will be awarded during the opening ceremony on 28 November at 6pm.
