Haupteingang, Ebene 0

If you always wanted to listen in on radio programmes from all over the world — welcome to Radio Garden. Forget the distance between sender and receiver, Radio Garden knows no geographical or man-made barriers.

It‘s up to you to choose, manually, which radio station from around the globe you want to listen to. The interactive map shows and allows you to select about 8.000 radio stations from 159 countries around the world. Green dots on the virtual globe indicate the individual stations. The locations appear in the cross-hairs and you can home in on the stations by selecting the glowing city markers. You can also rotate the globe. The available radio stations will appear on the right-hand side of the screen.

The bird‘s eye view of our planet and the continents enable you to zoom in on cities and landscapes, down to rooftops and street views. But the most exciting feature is the variety of radio stations and programmes. We recommend listening in on stations broadcasting in a different language!

Radio Garden was developed by "Transnational Radio TRE,“ a research project at Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg (MLU), in collaboration with five universities from the United Kingdom, Denmark and the Netherlands, lead by Dr. Golo Föllmer.

Open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursdays until 8 p.m.; on Sundays and public holidays from 11 a.m. Free admission.

Radio Garden at the Stadthaus is generously supported by compustore Ulm.
